About Us
Paul Pepworth, founder of Potterscraft Supplies and related enterprises demonstrates glaze layering with Abbots Midfire Glaze at a workshop in New Zealand.

Paul is a potter and serial entrepreneur with a career dating back to the 1970’s. Along the way he has established or played a key role in several enterprises including Paul’s Pottery and Professional Kilns in Durban SA, Valley Pottery, Harpers and KilnContracts in Cape Town, Decopot, Primo Clays, Abbots Glazes, Temuka Pottery and The Alchemist’s Table in New Zealand, and Potterscraft Supplies (online) in Australia.
Paul is responsible for the technology and process foundation that our business depends on. Just add in product design and business strategy to make it a full-time job!
Lucy Pepworth
Having grown up in a pottery-obsessed family and a decade in banking, Lucy has all the skills and insights needed to contribute to the family business with responsibility for The Alchemist’s Table and marketing our many other brands.
Jo Perry
Jo is our sales administration champion. Infinitely patient and dedicated to meeting the needs of every customer.
Suzanne McAllen
Suzanne is an experienced potter in her own right and her active connections in the ceramics community are a huge asset to our enterprise. She also pays our wages and our suppliers whilst keeping our accounts in order.
Michael Freeman
A veteran contributor in his third decade, Michael is the glue that binds our production team together. Skilled in all production roles Michael’s steady hand and easy temperament are critical to our everyday functioning.
Arvind Rai
Another long-standing team member, Arvind meticulously batches and blends our Abbots Glazes and Claybright Underglaze products.
Damian Stanford
Our health and safety champion, Damian operates our clay making facility carefully batching and processing the set of white Primo Clays, casting slip and the body we use in our tableware production. His attention to detail is legendary and critical to success in his role.
