Visual Character

A fine-grogged, cement-coloured midfire stoneware body with natural speckling that develops above 1150 °C. The fired surface creates a warm, textured appearance ideal for functional and artistic pottery.

Key Features

  • 20% fine grog (0–0.2 mm)
  • Natural speckles become visible above 1150 °C
  • Suitable for throwing, slabwork, attaching, and sculptural work
  • Balanced plasticity with added strength from fine grog
  • Functionally vitreous around 1200 °C

How to Use

  • Firing range: 1000–1250 °C
  • Best results: 1180–1220 °C oxidation
  • Bisque firing: approximately 900–1000 °C
