Abbots Clear (Cone 3-6) Glaze

An exceptionally useful glossy transparent glaze for firing between 1150C and 1200C.

This low-expansion glaze will fit most clay bodies and can easily be adjusted if required.

Takes stains well (depending on temperature) and is a brilliant choice for use with underglaze paints. It suspends well when set at 1350 – 1420g/l density. Use Epsom Salt as a flocculant if desired. Can easily be converted into a brushable glaze if dispersed in a suitable medium.

This low-clay glaze is not frequently used as a base coat for layered effects.

Abbots Clear is safe to use on food contact surfaces.
