Abbots Tenmoku is a Cone 6 midfire brushable glaze with a deep brown-black glaze with rich gloss, ancient depth, and a soft smoky haze where it gathers thickly. Inspired by classic Japanese tenmoku surfaces, it is dramatic on light clay bodies and equally strong as a foundation for layered glaze work.
Reactive glossy surface with smoky and layered character.

This colour really brought these pumpkins to life!!

Incredible depth for only 1 glaze, super impressed. Itβs pretty thick but stables even with 3 coats.

1) I appreciate you resending the clay and wearing the loss after your mistake of sending it to the wrong state, but I never received the glaze, so only part of the order which is frustrating and an in essay loss to me. 2) the clay is SO soft and hard to work with. Throwing - it wonβt hold its own shape and collapses. Then at leather hard as soon as you add water it turns to mush. Handbuilding - same issue but a little more workable. I will say, it does fire to a beautiful colour. I managed to still get some pieces made - though they are wonky. But everything was so much harder than it had to be.

Great colour rich red used on my chickens. Used 2 coats of deep glossy red on the chicken body and 1 coat of lucent indigo.

I donβt have a proper picture but all 10 pieces turned out bubbled. Tiny little bubbles.l through the glaze. The clay is a Keanes stoneware and 3 good layers didnβt bring out the yellow but Iβve got another batch going in so maybe this will come out differently.

Stunning glaze, dips beautifully, this is layered under a pink with flux and itβs a wonderful combo!

Gorgeous! Two of your new glazes. Amazon and Camelia. Brushed on beautifully. The Amazon ruins a bit but I love the effect.

My new favorite clay

Gorgeous glaze, deep green and translucent as expected. Just a little tricky to apply (like a dipping glaze) so I might need to add some brushing medium.

These arenβt the best pictures but itβs wonderful, sparkles gold in the light, with just the right amount of iron.
