Black Oilspot Brush-on Glazes

Abbots Black Oilspot is a Cone 6 midfire brushable glaze with a bold, iron-rich glaze with a deep inky base and striking metallic speckling. On its own it evokes obsidian and volcanic rock; in layered work it becomes a dramatic foundation that adds contrast, movement, and cratered visual energy.

Customer photo review of Stoneware with Speckle WMS2502 (CREAM) Clay 10Kg Bag

Loved throwing with the speckle clay. It wasn't too gritty. The speckles show through an opaque glaze. It was also nice for handbuilding, there was little warping on my plates.

Customer photo review of WFSZ 2002 - Silky Caramel Midfire - 10kg

1) I appreciate you resending the clay and wearing the loss after your mistake of sending it to the wrong state, but I never received the glaze, so only part of the order which is frustrating and an in essay loss to me. 2) the clay is SO soft and hard to work with. Throwing - it won’t hold its own shape and collapses. Then at leather hard as soon as you add water it turns to mush. Handbuilding - same issue but a little more workable. I will say, it does fire to a beautiful colour. I managed to still get some pieces made - though they are wonky. But everything was so much harder than it had to be.

Customer photo review of Abbots Primrose Midfire Brushable Glaze

I don’t have a proper picture but all 10 pieces turned out bubbled. Tiny little bubbles.l through the glaze. The clay is a Keanes stoneware and 3 good layers didn’t bring out the yellow but I’ve got another batch going in so maybe this will come out differently.

Stunning glaze, dips beautifully, this is layered under a pink with flux and it’s a wonderful combo!

Customer photo review of Abbots Amazon Midfire Brushable Glaze

Gorgeous! Two of your new glazes. Amazon and Camelia. Brushed on beautifully. The Amazon ruins a bit but I love the effect.

Customer photo review of Abbots Moss Green Midfire Brushable Glaze

Gorgeous glaze, deep green and translucent as expected. Just a little tricky to apply (like a dipping glaze) so I might need to add some brushing medium.

Customer photo review of Abbots Crater Lake Crackle Midfire Brushable Glaze

I love the colours and as someone new to pottery it’s just exciting to know that this product has quality and a huge range of colour. Looking forward to adding more to my existing colours and exploring what magic can happen with them!

Customer photo review of Abbots Moss Green Midfire Brushable Glaze

Beautiful deep dark green. I probably should have applied a little thicker, but very happy. Some lovely crystals too. Looking forward to exploring more
